It’s warm outside, but school starts in just a few weeks! Are you ready? (Neither am I!) Regardless, stores are rolling out Fall fashion trends and back-to-school gear. Here’s my guide to what’s hot this season, starting with the video segment I did on KTVB with Carolyn Holly.
HUGE THANKS to the Boise Nordstrom Rack, for providing clothing & accessories for this video segment! The Rack has awesome, trendy clothes for a fraction of what’s you’d pay retail! I <3 their store. 🙂
Fall Fashion Trend 1. Biker Grunge
The 90’s are back, with rocker t-shirts, plaid button-ups, and lace-up boots! Leather is EVERYWHERE, from skirts and jackets to unexpected trims on t-shirts, leggings, and dresses. Leather-like pieces are great, too; shiny materials that look a but like leather are sometimes softer and less expensive! In Boise, we are fortunate to have a huge Harley Davisdon store, with a massive clothing section of fun stuff any adventurous fashionista can incorporate into her wardrobe!
Fall Fashion Trend 2. Animal Prints
Meow, baby! Animals are everywhere; from owls, cats, and wolves on t-shirts, to cheetah and snow leopard prints! Unleash your beast, or channel your inner unicorn. Anything goes with this trend! Have fun with it. Animal character t’s and sweaters are fabulous trend pieces. I layered a classic black blazer over a cheetah print skirt (2nd pic below) for a more professional look.
Fall Fashion Trend 3. Shirts That Say it For You
Everyone’s wearing their beliefs on their sleeves these days! Or rather, on their chest. Or back. Or tummy… Bottom line: if it has words on it, it’s hot!
Fall Fashion Footwear Trend: Make a Point
Pointy toes are everywhere this season! On pumps, flats, and booties. Speaking of booties, go get some! You can wear them under bootcut jeans, with skinnies, with skirts, dresses, and rolled boyfriend jeans. In short, ankle boots go with everything. Evvveryyythiiingg. Lace them, zip them, slip them on… Whatever! Wear them YOUR way; they add attitude and panache to any ensemble!
My favorite pump for fall, from Sam Edelman.
